We met at the pier, the long boardwalk stretching out over the ocean, salt water taffy atmosphere stretching out over the waves, sharks circling below waiting for us to fall in; tasty grape torsos popping on their teeth; biting with an explosion.
I have five question for you, if you would be so kind as to answer. Let's share your brains with some people, show them how you make words dance, huh?
Question 1 : Who is the first author you remember reading, years ago or even now, that made you sit up and pay attention to their words ?
Two authors come to mind; and they are J.K. Rowling and R.L. Stine. Both made an impression on me as a kid and both still have books that draw me in now. His for spooky tales and hers because of creating such believable and lovable characters.
Question 2 : What is your favorite word and why ?
I must say, that is a dangerous question she gives an evil smile I'd have to say " wicked " is my favorite word. I don't use it much in conversation, but I believe it has a wide range; there's ' mischievous ' wicked, there's ' evil ' wicked, ' cool ' wicked.
I feel like that;
when I am writing a short horror story with a twist or if I'm planning something for a character that hopefully gives readers a " No, she didn't !!! moment."
With the sharks, still following our steps down the pier, she reveals from her pocket, with a wicked grin, a parcel of fabric; crumbs falling to the pier woodwork like glitter in the sunlight, comfort so close to fear.
Opening the bandana, she reveals a devilish cake made of angels food. Smuggled out of view for the interview, she throws a handful out and over the rail, feeding the swarm of the ancients below. it's all teeth and thrashing followed by her laughter and feeding; it may as well have been kittens, she is unafraid, alive and breathing.
Question 3 : When your words are shared, for others to read, how does it make you feel ?
Honored, lucky. I hope the words I use can make people have " feels " , whether it be fear, pain, loss, sorrow, love, joy; what have you. I always have some type of story running through my head, long or short, doesn't matter. Usually, it's in a "behind the scenes" moment of that work being filmed, so I'm probably insane, but hey, it's one way of seeing favorite actors playing out certain parts. Why not try and share that with other people , you know ?
Question 4 : Where is the scariest place you have ever been ?
I'd have to say, the scariest place is the movie theater i worked in. Creeptacular to the extreme.
Question 5 : Why are we so immune to the pain of others but expect others to understand our pain ?
Hmm, for this I'd have to say, we all feel things differently, we all go through different experiences and those experiences can have different outcomes for each person. They make us who we are. We can try to express what we feel to others, you know, put it into words and share it with others but, each person is going to understand the words differently because they relate to it on a different level.
While we can be united in certain "feels" it all depends on our own experiences, how we relate to what the other person shares.
And with that, I smiled. She doesn't know it yet , but I will ask her to meet me here again. In the future. Feeding the sharks.
The sharks below, having had their fill, razor sharp teeth, diamond serrated fins and butcher knife tails thrashing in the sunset, swim away until feeding time; tomorrow.
For now, C.A. and I have decided to eat a slice on the boardwalk, with our own teeth; deliciously greasy pizza.
Perhaps then dessert; we can have our cake and eat it to .
Until we meet again, C.A. Sechler, it has truly been my pleasure.

Sat, August 19th, 2017 8:06pmThis is amazing so far and I will definitely be reading more of the interviews. I think that it is great that you are doing this and it is a great way to get to know some of our fellow writers here on booksie. It is also unique of how you are introducing them to the people reading these interviews and who's portfolio you would like to check out next. Keep up the good work Dr. Acula. That is a cool pen name by the way. I really like it.
Wed, August 30th, 2017 1:48pmNo problem Dr. Acula. Another thing I like about how you do these interviews is how you always change up the setting for each interview from feeding sharks to camping out in the redwoods to even just sitting a little shop for some tea *Puts pinky up* :). I think it's amazing how much you change it up when doing these interviews because then it is a surprise each time I read a different interview.

Fri, October 13th, 2017 4:42pmClever and very interesting. If all interviews were conducted like this, movies would become obsolete. Excellent interview and now I know Shark tamer much better.;)

Mon, December 18th, 2017 10:39pmI like how you created this interview book. You take the interview and turn it into a story which in turn the story side sounds believable. It's unique and impressive to see this. Never would I have thought of this but luckily you did. It's nice to know a little bit more about a person like how they answer the question, because it gives you a little piece about who they are as a person and not just as a writer. You are really cooking with something here and it turns out to be a big hit. This is very nice and I enjoyed the little storyline that went with the interview. Great work.
Tue, March 20th, 2018 2:41amI liked questions 3 and 5.
Mon, July 2nd, 2018 4:36amI cam across these and find them very interesting - love learning about authors and whats inspiring them. I am new to the platform, but if you are still working on these I would love the opportunity to be interviewed by you! No pressure of course. Take care!
