The chatelaine raised the portcullis. Swooping down, the dragon rider mounted atop his winged spectacle, dismounted by simply jumping up and out his saddle, landing with ease on the drawbridge as his feathery winged friend flew back and away.
He was to deliver a message to the keep's guard only to be greeted by her instead; anxiously awaiting the news from the other castle. It was both good news and bad news at the same time. The supplies she had requested were not to be found there, but he was to take her to the sea, where they may be.
She opened the doorway for me approach. I stood there soaked in rain happy to get out the elements. I was here to ask a few questions, and she asked me to bring along an item for us to converse over. A dragon's claw I had the luxury of obtaining through some sources that I mustn't name. She invites me in, and we begin right away as I lay the claw wrapped in leather on the table in front of us.
Question 1 : Who is your favorite writer? also, Who is you favorite actor ? (actress )
I prefer to write than read. I never used to read, that is, until I joined this site. So in truth, I don't have a favorite. On Booksie, I still don't have a
favourite. Every writer I see are unique in there own ways. Some are more experiences, some are naturally gifted, and others are on the path to becoming something great. Everyone has their own
style of writing and I just cannot choose a favourite.
As for actor or actress, my mother could tell you her's, but when it comes to me, I don't watch much TV to get even remotely familiar with actors/actresses.
Though, there is one that always stood out to me due to the many different roles he played. Johnny Depp. I'd say he's the only one I can remember, therefore, he must be my favourite, hahaha.
The dragon rider escorts the chatelaine out onto the bridge and gives a thundering clap of his hands against the skyline. As if out of the unseen the dragon floats back down, his wings casting a long shadow over the two below. They climb atop, settling in comfortably for their excursion to the waters edge to find their requested necessity.
I unfold the leather, tied by a string of suede and reveal the black onyx shine of a talon, sharp and beautiful, dangerous and priceless.
Question 2: What is your favorite word ?
My favourite word, well, I actually have two. One is Doiley, which is a little random, but i just like the word, haha. I just find it fun. The other is Loquacious. I'm not usually a very Loquacious person myself, but it's a cool word in my opinion. Both of these words I never use in my writing, but they are both very enjoyable to say.
As the lady, the rider and the guardian dragon approach the oceans edge, they spot a clear patch of sandy hope for the beast to land into; resting and waiting with a heaviness in his breath. He had been around for ages, and other than the occasional scale or feather that was torn away from the winds, his heart was growing tired and weary.
She reaches out to lift the claw, paying careful attention so as to not lift it off the pillow it rested upon, and looks closely. A sparkle of glittering effervescence, opulent and reflective dust mirrored in her eyes. Remains of time forgotten. Flakes of a shell.
I continued with the inquiry.
Question 3: When do you like to write ? ( concerning your mood ) ( happy sad angry bored creative moments )
Well, I don't usually write when I'm sad or angry, otherwise it'd affect my writing in likely negative ways. I feel most inspired when I'm in a good mood, which is understandable, and sometimes I just feel oddly productive, so I get heaps done. If I'm in a bad mood, I usually sit around and only get a sentence or two done at the most.
As the dragon rider and the lady search the shore for a special seashell, the dragon huffs and saves his resilience for the journey back home, his last ride.
She examines the speckled blade of the dragons claw, and asks to keep a sample of the powder still clinging to the hardness of its exterior, a fragile magnetic cling. I agree. She gently brushes away the particles, ever so fragile like, into a clear tube. An antidote that required other powders, she had yet another ingredient for her recipe.
Question 4 : Where ( in your opinion ) seems like such a magical place here on earth that you would truly love to visit sometime in your life ?
Hmm, that's a tricky one. Considering I have a huge fascination with castles, probably some place with one of those, hahaha. I've been to a castle here in New Zealand and stayed a few nights there, and it was pretty awesome. I'd love to visit another someday. But I'd never go there unless I drag my family along with me, haha. It wouldn't be as much fun with out them, so I suppose the true answer to this question is, the one magical place is one where my family is at, haha. Sounds a little sappy, hahaha, but it is true,
Finding the shell they had come here for, they walk back to the dragon, climbing atop; once considered a monster, the riders beautiful steed flaps with a pulsating down draft and lifts off back toward the castle. Somehow the dragon knew this was his last flight and understood the importance of every winged thrust he must make to safely return back with the treasure.
She places the tube of fragmented gem like shards onto a shelf, next to the others, a spectrum of colors reflect back, like oil floating in water.
One last thing, as she sits back at the table,
Question 5: Why do some writers fear being published? and/or Why is it so difficult for writers to get published ?...what holds them back...)
I feel that comes down to self-esteem. If a person fears being published, then they fear that they are not good enough or ready to share their work with the world. It's unknown territory. As a writer seeking publishers, I wouldn't have a clue how well it would do, or whether it's even at the stage I want it to be at. I'm kind of particular when it comes to my writing. My standards are very high, as are most other writers. If I read something and there is even one sentence off, it must be corrected. They may also worry about what other people will think of their stories and writing, I know I do. But they have to keep in mind, if writing is truly what they enjoy doing, they should be writing for themselves, not for others. Sure, they may read it, some may hate it, others may love it, but really, not everyone is going to enjoy your writing, since it's all just their opinions. Your best work comes from enjoying what you do.
As the dragon lands swiftly back onto the bridge, the two dismount, caressing the side of the beast , feeling the heaviness of it's breath. The rider knew it was time, looking into the catlike pupils of his friend. The dragon reaches away and scrapes it wing along the wooden path. A claw snaps off as if to say thank you for the love and kindness he was always shown. Standing like a leviathan he screeches into the heavens and lifts off, away, never to be seen again, returning to his home and his final resting place.
The rider reaches down and picks up the talon and hands it to the lady. One last gift. She had all she needed now, the crustaceans cure that would save the life of her own love.
Resting quietly inside the castles keep lay a small creature, its feathered scaly wings wrapped around itself, fighting off fever. The lady was about to help in that fight and bring her friend back to life. A protector of dragons.
I wrapped the talon back up and slid it into my pocket like a secret no one would understand, but for her. I walked back out into the rain and gave a final scratch of the railing with my nail as I went down the steps. She understood this was my way of thanking her.
She's the one who knows of these things.
The one who still believes.
And had the power to make others do so.
To awaken the dragon.
Thank you ShadaStorm120.
