Solid writing, thick descriptions and deep feelings. Great job. I certainly never tend to read a thing, unless it’s out of the limits of realities beliefs. But this was very good... really good!

This is powerful. The first half reminded me of Johnny Got His Gun a movie that Metallica paid tribute to with their video One. I will continue reading this story.

I feel very bad for Edmun. From his struggle with PTSD, which at his time was known as "shell shock", to his father not recognizing him, fate seems to be set against our main character. I hope things change for the better and that he can live a decent life once again.

I ENJOYED THE FIRST CHAPTER IT WAS SO HEARTBREAKING,AND HAD SO MUCH AND DESCRIPTIVE SCENES. I COULD SEE AND FEEL THE SCENE. I WAS THERE ON THAT VERY CLIFF SEEING AND HEARING HIS WORDS. I LOVE IT VERY POWERFUL!

Thanks for inviting me to read your novelette. You have done an amazing job. Though I have read only 4 chapters so far, I will read the remaining chapters for sure. Because it's such a powerful story. You have your readers hooked up into the story. I am totally invested and I am loving it so far.

I tell you no lie, I wish I could write a story this well! I applaud you JL! I was on the verge of tears! So much raw emotions were poured into this! I very much wanted someone to hug Edmond as I was pulled into the painful paradox of his tortured and broken mind. Although his father didn’t recognize him, that bittersweet moment they shared at the end of the chapter is very toughing! I look forward to chapter two!

This was a heart-wrenching description of the symptoms of war. i foresee dark times ahead for Edmund. You have a great style of prose: very descriptive and articulate. I will keep reading, for sure.

Good descriptive writing. I'm not entirely sure whats going on, though. It felt like a dream sequence, but then switching to Edmond's POV made it seem real? But there seems to be a good theme and emotion happening.

I enjoyed the first chapter. I felt the tension between the father and son, and I was just like John and doubted that Edmund was his son. But toward the end, I wondered if he truly was.
