The Entertainer

She is a thespian in her own production;
an understudy of her own creation.
A comedy?
A tragedy?
Sit back and howl incessantly while she scatters her pawns across the stage.
What you see,
and what she feels – mismatching.
Yet, her comedic impersonator squares up to a truer character.
The humor of it is only human –
whimsical actually.

The screenplay is jubilant
forging a captivating alliance with her audience.
It is deliberate, she probably wants ratings.
In an honest review,
her self-targeted vengeance reaches other-worldly resentment
composed and left for charades.
The smoke screens only for effect.
We will see you at the next show!
Love,
the Entertainer.

So much energy, suppressed fury really, in this little piece!
