Love's depth was unable to be seen or acted upon and then was lost.

Tribute in Amoretti 5
Joan Miro - Rope Dancer, 1937

Around my heart love spun a glowing twine,
a string of fire that tied so quickly her
beauty within.  But I , with life’s eye
trapped within  modern civilization,

could only dully see  her grandeur from
without.It was simple, my unraveled
frazzled view that gave me the greatest
loss in my heart’s one test.  I didn’t give our

tightened tune in time, the counter point, one
summer’s song to surround that dancing
step along the rope that leaped my heart, to look
and carry deep the rest of my life of what

might have been if I had said, “I love you”
and heard the reply, “You do love me, true?”
