“Crud!” Nick exclaimed as the car flipped onto its back and exploded. “Game Over” appeared on the screen, and Nick turned the “PlayStation 3” off.
He was very lanky. His sky-blue eyes sparked up every time food was in his sight. He had short, curly black hair that attracted girls and a short nose.
Nick stretched and groaned. He stood up, traveled to his sister's room, and knocked on the door.
“Yeah? What do you want?” Jessica snapped.
“I'm bored; can you drive me to the mall?” Nick asked.
“I can’t. Wait until Aunt Rita returns,” she replied then closed the door.
“Fine!” Nick marched back to the living room. It sometimes sucks to be fourteen and not be able to drive, he thought and plopped down on the couch by the window facing the TV. He snatched the clicker lying on the table in front of him and changed the channel.
Jessica came out and sat down on the other couch.
“Why can't you take me to the mall?” Nick asked Jessica.
“Cuz I just don't wanna.” Her hazel eyes seemed to laugh at him. She twirled her blond hair and opened her book.
Nick opened his mouth to say something crude but closed it instead. He walked through the arched opening of the kitchen. He hated the floral wallpaper that his aunt picked out, but never said anything. He was always amazed by the size of the room. Two grand pianos could fit and still have enough space to cook! Golden sunlight poured in from the twin windows, casting on the plocinine floor. KNOCK. Nick jumped.
“Jessica, will you get the door?” Nick asked.
“OK,” she replied getting up. She put her book down and strolled to the door and opened it.
“Well, hello, Jessica,” Gerold said.
“What kind of greeting is that?... never mind, don’t tell- me. Nick's in the kitchen,” Jessica replied as Gerold stepped in. She closed the door behind him and sat back down on the couch as Gerold came in the kitchen. Nick was putting a jug of milk in the refrigerator when Gerold said,
“Yo!”
“'Sup,” Nick said, turning his head to him.
Gerold was Nick's age and had brown hair that came down to his shoulders. He was thin and had wild green eyes. His nose was short.
“Jessica won’t drive me to the mall.”
Gerold walked over to her. “Hey, wassup, if you drive us to the mall, I’ll hook you up.”
“In your dreams, dweeb!”
“’I’ll buy you a new bra.”
“What the Hell?”
“You like bras, right?”
“Get away from me, weirdo!”
“Um, Gerold?” Nick said.
“What?”
“Come here.”
He shrugged and walked to Nick.
“Why did you tell my sister you’ll buy her a new bra?”
“She looked like she could use one.”
“What the Hell, dude?”
“What?”
”You never ask your friend’s sister questions like that! It’s weird and creepy!”
“You’re weird and creepy!”
“Go apologize to her now!’”
”Alright,” Gerold sighed and walked back. “I’m sorry I offered to by you a new bra.”
“Whatever, just leave me alone.”
“Jessica,” Nick said.
“What?!”
“We really wanna go to the mall.”
“I told you, no! Now, leave me alone!”
“Fine!”
After Nick made himself a sandwich, he sat down on the couch adjacent to the one where Jessica's butt was parked. Nick began chowing down when the door opened.
“Hi, guys,” a bony woman about forty walked in with groceries.
“Hi,” Nick replied, set his sandwich down, and helped his Aunt Rita put groceries away. After Rita thanked him, Nick sat back down and finished his lunch.
Rita was of medium height. Her kind blue eyes made everybody around her smile, and her long silky hair was the color of midnight.
“Can you take me to the mall?” Nick implored Rita. Rita sighed and denied his request because she was too tired.
“Maybe Jessica can take you,” she said.
“I don't wanna,” Jessica whined.
“You should be nicer to Nick,” Rita shot back. “Take him to the mall. Besides, it's summer; you should go out more than sit on your butt and watch mindless TV all day.”
“OK,” she sighed, realizing she could not win.
“Thanks,” Rita replied and kissed Jessica.
“And besides, you need the exercise. you’re getting kinda f—"
“Say it, and you’re dead meat!” Jessica interrupted Gerold.
A few minutes later, Jessica was driving Nick and Gerold to the mall.
“Let’s sing a song. ninety-nine bottles of beer—"
“Shut up! God! What are you? Ten?” Jessica snapped, interrupting Gerold.
“You know, you don’t have to be that way. I was trying to—"
“Oh, screw you!” She turned the radio on to ‘rock’ and increased the volume, so it blared in the kids' ears.
“TURN IT DOWN!” Nick screamed, covering his ears with his hands.
“'Fine, pussy,” Jessica scoffed and lowered the volume.
“Tha...” Nick started, but something black fell from the sky and landed on the hood of the car on two legs. about seven feet high with a long, fat snout, the beast howled.
Jessica lost control of the car. It hit the pickup truck in front, but the werewolf somehow stayed on the hood. Jessica, Nick, and Gerold screamed.
The werewolf looked at the children through its wild yellow eyes and punched through the window with its tough, black fury fist. Jessica shrieked and got out. The werewolf pulled its bleeding fist out as Gerold and Nick scrambled out too.
The three children started running straight towards a gas station as the werewolf hopped off of the car, and onto an orange VW Beetle. The werewolf punched the left back window out. A girl about seven screamed, sitting by the window.
The car stopped and the werewolf hopped off. Before the girl could do anything, the werewolf ripped the door off its hinges and bit her face off.
The mother screamed in front and tossed her book she was reading at it. The werewolf didn't seem to notice and ate the girl's stomach.
Then it jumped in the car and ate various organs of the mother and father. The werewolf jumped out of the car and headed towards the gas station where Nick, Jessica, and Gerold ran.
“Werewolf, huh?” the cashier said, chewing gum in the gas station after Nick and the other two told him what they saw. He rolled his eyes and laughed. “Y'all must be high or somethin'.”
“But, there's really a werewolf out there,” Nick replied.
“First of all, werewolves ain't real and second, they only appear on nights when the full moon is out.”
“AAAAAAAAHHH!”
“What the hell?” the cashier said. He waalked to the end of the counter where the flap was, lifted it up, and walked through. He was about to look out the window when the door was knocked down.
Everybody screamed and started making for the door. The werewolf uttered a low growl and went for Jessica, Nick, and Gerold. They started edging backwards.
The cashier picked a display rack up, and bags odf Lays potato chips and Cheetos hit the floor.
The man snuck up to the werewolf and hit it over the head with the rack. The werewolf yelped and turned toward him.
“Get out
“Huh?” Nick asked.
“Save yourselves!”
“What about you?” Nick asked.
“Don’t worry about me! The man backed up to the counter flap. “GO NOW!”
The kids raced out of the store. The werewolf growled and leapt onto the man, knocking him down. He was knocked out as the werewolf tore his stomach open with its dagger-like claws.
Nick, Jessica, and Gerold ran to Rita's house and locked the front door.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“There’s a werewolf out there!” Nick blurted out.
“What?”
Nick told her.
“You all must be watchin' too many horror movies,” Rita said.
“We did!” Jessica said. ”It was huge and almost killed us!”
“I know it sounds absurd but... Forget it,” Nick replied. “Just double lock the door and be sure the windows are locked, OK?”
“I'm sorry I don't believe you,” Aunt Rita said. “You probably just imagined it.”
“We did not imagine it, dammit!” Nick exclaimed.
“Watch your mouth!” Rita scolded.
“Oh, sorry,” he replied sarcastically. “We did really see a werewolf, and I wish you would get your head outta your butt and believe us. If you give a damn, I'll be in my room hidin'!”
“Nick, don't do this,” Rita begged. “I can help you get over this.”
“If you really wanna help, then do what I said about the windows and doors,” Nick said and went to his bedroom.
“Should I leave?” Gerold asked Rita.
“No,” she sighed.
“We really saw a werewolf,” Jessica said.
“Stop with this werewolf crud,” Rita replied.
“But—”
“Stop!” Rita interrupted Jessica.
“I did too.” Gerold backed up Jessica.
“You're gettin' on my last nerve,” Rita warned.
“But, it's the truth,” Gerold replied.
“FINE, GEROLD, LEAVE! JESSICA, GO TO YOUR ROOM!” Rita screamed, and Jessica marched toward her room.
“Darn her narrow mindedness,” Jessica whispered and went into her room.
“I'm not goin' out there,” Gerold said.
“Then, go to Nick's room,” Rita replied, and Gerold did.
Rita stood up and went to the kitchen.
Werewolves, she thought and scoffed.
Outside the house, the werewolf approached the garage. It broke through the garage door, leaving the door looking like a Bobcat drove through it. The werewolf looked around and spotted the circuit breaker on the far wall.
Rita opened the refrigerator and snatched a Coke out when the refrigerator light went off. “That's strange.” she said, “I just changed the light bulb last week.”
She looked up and saw the ceiling fan was off. “Circuit broke,” she told herself and opened the Coke can.
Nick and Jessica ran back to the living room. “Aunt Rita?” they said in unison, and the door in the kitchen to the garage opened.
Rita spun around and screamed.
The teenagers rushed into the kitchen. The werewolf had Rita trapped against the counter. It growled at her, standing on its hind legs. Chills went down her back as she kept still.
“Hey!” Nick shouted at the werewolf, and it turned its head toward him.
Rita looked at the sink and grabbed a dish from it. The noise made the werewolf look back at her. Rita broke the plate over its head, but the werewolf did not seem to be harmed and bit into her hand. Bones cracked loudly as she screamed.
Nick started running to the kitchen, and the werewolf let go deciding Nick looked tastier than Rita.
“NICK, GET AWAY!” Rita screamed, and the werewolf leapt on Nick, knocking him down. He was unconscious as the werewolf opened its mouth, revealing blood-stained fangs.
Rita turned around and opened the drawer in front of her.
The werewolf was about to tear into Nick's throat when Rita stabbed deep into its back with a knife. The werewolf howled in pain and backed up. Rita got another knife. Its back heaved, pushing the knife out, and the wound closed up.
“Shit!” Aunt Rita (who usually did not cuss), exclaimed.
The beast leapt at her, but she ducked, causing it to land ahead of her. It spun around and jumped at her again. This time it succeeded in knocking her down. The werewolf growled and licked its chops.
“HEY LEAVE HER ALONE!” Jessica screamed, and the werewolf looked at her.
It came toward her when at that moment, a white light appeared between the werewolf and the two kids. The light was a solid circle spreading from the ceiling to the floor. Rita and Nick woke up and gasped at the light.
The light vanished and another werewolf appeared, wearing some sort of white trench coat with matching pants.
Not another one, Rita and the kids thought.
“Don't be afraid,” the new werewolf said with a female voice. “My name is Zordra and I'm taking this werewolf back to my planet, Flowerew.”
Zordra had silver, mystical eyes. The non-talking werewolf stood up and happily barked at Zordra, wagging his tail.
“Yes, I'm happy to see you too, Sixto,” Zordra said and patted his head with her black, glorious paw. “I'm sorry for the trouble he has caused. His instincts are uncontrollable unlike mine.”
“He bit me,” Rita said and showed her mangled bloody hand.
Zordra pulled a small glass bottle filled with blue liquid out of her trench coat pocket and opened it. “Keep your hand still,” Zordra said and poured a small amount of it onto Rita's hand. The bones instantly repaired themselves, and new skin replaced the damaged skin.
“Thank you,” Rita said.
“You're welcome,” Zordra replied and rubbed Sixto's back. He smiled and barked. “You like that, don't you.”
“Why can't he talk?” Jessica asked.
“He never learned how. He doesn't need to; I can understand him. All of the other werewolves on Flowerew speak English and other languages like me, including German and Latin,” she replied.
“We speak German and used to speak Latin on this planet also,” Nick said.
“Brillant!” Zordra exclaimed.
“Can you ask Sixto how he came to this planet?” Jessica asked, and Zordra started barking at Sixto.
He barked back and Zordra said, “He traveled in a tube of oxygen and before he landed on the thing you were in, he busted out of the tube and it vanished.”
“Oh,” Jessica replied.
Sixto communicated something to Zordra. “He said he left our planet, because he wanted to see what is out there,” she said and scolded him like a child. He whimpered. “He's sorry,” Zordra told the humans.
“Tell him we forgive him,” Rita replied and Zordra obeyed. Sixto smiled with his tongue out.
He walked to Rita, but she hesitated. Sixto barked and licked her face.
“He said thank you,” Zordra said.
Rita said, “You're welcome, Sixto.”
With Zordra's interpretation, Sixto said bye.
“I will tell the planet it is safe,” Zordra said and closed her eyes.
A few seconds later, she opened her eyes, and told Rita and the teenagers she did it. “Goodbye and good luck,” Zordra said and closed her eyes again.
The white light returned and covered Zordra and Sixto. The light vanished with them, and the power came back on.
Nick looked up and said, “The power has returned. Zordra must've done it.”
Gerald walked out. “What happened?”
“The werewolf left. I’ll catch you up with the details later,” Nick said.
“Tell me what happened.”
“Later, dude.”
“Alright,” Gerold said and looked at Jessica. “Now that’s over, maybe we can go on a date!” He placed his arm around Jessica.
“Remove it or I’ll break it.”
Gerold took his arm off her.
“What a day,” Rita sighed. “I'm sorry I didn't believe you three.”
“That's OK,” Nick replied. “I'm just glad we survived.”
“Yeah, me too,” Jessica said and hugged Nick.
“What a day,” Rita repeated triumphantly.

The story is pretty good! The aunt doesn't listen when the children warn her, and she gets trapped as a consequence. I love how the werewolf {who can not speak} had appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and had followed the children home.

Sun, May 5th, 2024 12:56pmI like stories with twists and bends with a few bellicose characters . . . this fits the bill. Good plot, structure, clarity, and flow; a fusion of horror and sci-fi.

Wed, September 4th, 2024 3:20amThis is a good chapter you have a good imagination and a good writer. I will read more later
Sun, September 15th, 2024 12:58amI thought that this was very imaginative. Keep writing!
Sun, October 6th, 2024 8:20amVery bizarre story. The dialogue is okay albeit a bit too pedestrian. This thing about werewolves from other planets falling from the sky strikes me as preposterous. I mean, if it were astronauts and suddenly the werewolf appeared on their "windshield," that's probably equally preposterous but a little easier to swallow. Stories have to evolve organically, need to start fast, and be credible.
Wed, October 23rd, 2024 3:05pmWOW, this was incredible!
You're so good at dialogue!

I enjoyed this story. I was expecting a usual ending. Till now, your stories which I read ended up with tragedy. This was different. The werewolf entrance was cool. You broke the stereotypes related to werewolves. Are most of the kids like Gerold in your country? I have seen such characters in Hollywood movies too. Bit confusing. I will read more stories of yours. Take care and have a wonderful weekend. :)
