MAGA -- an acronym the world has experienced too many times before -- yet humanity keeps repeating history, and its mistakes.

MAGA:  EUPHEMISM FOR HATE

By Al Garcia-Wiltse

MAGA – euphemism for hate.  Hate of tradition.  Hate of normality.  Hate of stability.  Hate of reason, logic, or rationality.  An acronym by design, not by connotation or suggestion.  Make America Great Again.  An absurdity of pomposity and odious farcicality by minds that cannot conceive, much less perceive, of the generational enlightenment of a nation, a culture, a dream.

Backstepping into history is sidestepping and evading the challenges of our time, our place, our nation – something no other American generation has ever attempted to avoid or ignore – until now.  Until the emergence of the MAGA movement, and the lust and hunger for the supremacy of unfettered power and control – like the monarchy which our Founding Fathers so desperately, eloquently, and successfully extricated and separated themselves from almost 250 years ago.

Now, after centuries of evolving, growing and maturing, MAGA has decided that the American idea is not working, at least not for them, on their terms.  Time to go back.  Time to step back.  Time to retake the dreams, the freedoms, the memories of our Republic, and give the reins of power and control to those without faith in our institutions.  To those without trust in our judgment or wisdom.  To those without loyalty or fidelity to their oaths of office, or to county, to honor, to duty.

MAGA – euphemism for hate.  The complete opposite for which this great land was founded – hope, anticipation, expectation, promise, and courage.  Courage to persevere and succeed.  Courage to overcome.  Courage to learn from our mistakes.  And, most of all, courage to keep believing in that dream that once was but a glimmer of hope.
