I’m at war.
It’s not a solitary battle.
It’s my lifetime.
From birth to present,
I’ve been fighting.
“Life’s hard,” they say.
“Tell me how hard,” I demand?
Don’t project your “hard” on mine.
I’ve got enough projectiles I’m dodging.
I face relentless bombardment only for a clear moment of love.
Somehow that love is enough to keep me alive.
But I wonder if the war will overtake me.
Will I succumb?
In the intensity
I’m the only one fighting for my life,
No one else.
It’s black.
It’s loud.
Oh, the noise is unbearable!
The world around me is crashing.
The rubble tumbles.
The tumult rattles my surroundings.
I’m in the midst.
God is in the midst.
I want to look upon him.
I want to see my deliverer.
He can save me.
Deliverer, come save me!
