Kaguya Hachibana traveled to the United States of America in 1995, to sell the exotic masks his family have made for generations. Wanting to do something different with his life. He told his customers that these masks can feel whatever emotion the user is feeling at the moment and amplified those feelings. Bringing their emotional state from 15% to 100% in an instant. And that it's best to wear these masks when one's emotional state is calm, neutral. Did all of his customers heed his advice? No. Kaguya heard bizarre stories from his customers. A woman being depressed for a several weeks because the man she'd fancy didn't reciprocated her feelings. To kids gaining monstrous strength to lift heavy objects due to the anger they feel from not getting want they want. Kaguya find these stories amusing. He didn't care that his customers ruin their lives by not listening to the warning he gave them before purchasing his masks. After all, these unusual events caused people to spread rumors around town. Leading people to become curious about the masks Kaguya sells at his shop. And with more customers coming to his shop to buy his masks, his business was able to grow as time went on. Many believed that these masks are cursed and the wearer becomes possessed by a malevolent spirit. Others believed that Kaguya is a shaman that channels deceased spirits into the masks to punish fools who don't listen to his warning. The only person who knows the truth is Kaguya. But the man doesn't want others to know the secret behind the masks. Wanting to revel in the chaos and confusion that his masks are causing to the public.
