Crunching leaves beneath clinking steel boots, a Knight steps through the foliage within the dark woods of Artios. Letting out a heavy sigh tilting his head up to the canopy above he mutters curses. "What was the my Lord?!" The squire following behind says with an unnerving amount of excitement for one so surrounded by danger. "Keep quiet Deric, who knows where beastmen may lay in wait". The Knight says shaking his head in obvious disappointment. "It was nothing, just this damnable place, these damnable trees, and this damnable heat and the damnable B-" His ranting getting cut off by Derics loud voice once again, "Beastmen Sir!". "That's right Deric, these damnable Beast- Oh". The words silenced by the surprise of a spear just about piercing his skull, planting firmly in the tree beside him. "No sir Bastione, Beastmen!" The squire says with a smirk pulling his longbow from his back and knocking an arrow, Bastione turns to face the direction of the foe drawing his sword in one swift motion slicing into the ribs of one unlucky beastman. His arms raised high as if to strike down before they slump down beside him, his goat-like face coughing blood from its broken toothed mouth before it falls the foliage below. The other pouncing on the Knight is stuck by an arrow, burying into its eye and out the back of its roughly furred head before crumbling into a lifeless corpse. That same arrow inches from finding itself into Bastione's own head. " Deric, thank you, but also by the Lady stop making your shots so close to my bleeding face!" He said ducking beneath a crude axe of a third foe, this one larger than the others and intimidating curled horns on its head. The axe strikes a tree leaving a nasty cut. Bastione spins and strikes the back of the creatures knee, the strong muscled flesh unable to be cut straight through with such a sudden weakened blow, still managing to stop the creature to a knee before the Knights blade finds its way stabbing straight through the back of the beastmens head. Its ugly face now a blood spewing split wound, as it slumps forward into the tree coating its bark in dark blackish red blood. "Filthy thing, glad we could take it swiftly. It was far to reckless with that first strike." Bastione said, looking about incase of any new enemies as he wipes his bloody blade on the fur of the felled beastman before sheathing it and looking to Deric. The squire stepping up with that usual dumb smile, his bow still ready suddenly expressed a look of disappointment. "Aww my Lord, you think that's all of em? I was hoping for more of eh scrap" He said looking to Bastione. The young Knight looked with a raised brow before shaking his head. "Deric, you sure your mother wasn't an Orc? You have a mind of fighting like one". He said with a chuckle. "Hmm don't think so my Lord, she was quite the pretty woman. Dad had quite brick face though, I mean really got hit with a brick once. His face never looked quite right after that". Bastione looked at the squire with a stunned expression, mouth agape. "U-huh, yeah okay? Anyway let's keep going, we have a beastmen camp to finish off!". Deric looked on obliviously and just shrugged before stepping over the corpse and following the young Knight Errant on his quest.
