Monday morning, in bed a yawning,
And a new ho-hum work week is dawning.
Just five more minutes, a micro snooze,
An extended stretch, a gaping yawn, no time to lose.
What tasks will my boss bring to bear on me?
Will I get burdened with the work of three?
What other worldly surprises are in store this week?
Improving markets is what investments seek,
Pension funds roar when the financials soar,
Retirement, another day closer, then out the door.
Praying all good fortunes align just like the stars,
Will this week bring world peace or just more wars?
When is mankind ever going to learn to appreciate,
That it's our basic humanness which makes us great.
Enough with the daydreams and out the front door,
Get my labors underway, the cycle repeats once more.
