One evening, Selene gathered the Veyrons and a small group of Haven’s most skilled members in the central chamber. The atmosphere was tense, the air thick with anticipation.

“We’ve received word of a Consortium facility nearby,” Selene began. “They’ve been conducting experiments on individuals like us—trying to replicate our abilities or, failing that, eradicate them. We cannot let this continue.”

Daniel’s heart sank. “You’re talking about infiltrating a Consortium facility? That’s suicide.”

“Not if we’re careful,” Selene replied. “This is a reconnaissance mission. We gather information, expose their operations, and retreat. No unnecessary risks.”

Elara’s voice was steady but firm. “And if something goes wrong?”

“Then we adapt,” Selene said. “But we cannot stand by while they destroy our kind. This is our chance to strike back.”

The Veyrons exchanged uneasy glances. They had come a long way in their training, but the thought of facing the Consortium head-on was terrifying.

Kieran, however, felt a spark of determination. “I’ll do it,” he said. “I’m tired of hiding. If this is how we fight back, then I’m in.”

Livia nodded slowly. “Me too. We can’t let them win.”

Daniel and Elara shared a silent conversation, their fears and hopes reflected in each other’s eyes. Finally, Daniel sighed. “We’ll do it. But we stick to the plan—no heroics.”

Selene smiled. “Welcome to the revolution.”

As the group prepared for the mission, the Veyrons couldn’t shake the feeling that this was only the beginning. The road ahead was fraught with danger, but for the first time, they felt a sense of purpose—a reason to fight.

And fight they would.
