The seventeenth annual Hong Kong Writers Circle anthology delves into the aftermath of natural and human-made storms: joy, disappointment, humility, regret, and humour. The anthology was launched at the Hong Kong International Literary Festival in Nov 2021. My humorous short story, 'Sh*tstorm', was one of many published in this eclectic anthology of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. New parents Mr. & Mrs. Sharpe-Payne are struggling to cope with the pressures of parenthood going to increasingly absurdist and criminal lengths to keep their baby twins from waking.
About Author
Based in Hong Kong, I produce and present quirky little podcasts, offbeat docs and humorous slots for RTHK Radio 3. My RTHK humour column series 'Sharp Pains' inspired some goofy columns published by the South China Morning Post. I've also written short stories and poetry for anthologies 'After The Storm', 'Mingled Voices 5' and 'A Book of Changes'. In Dec 2022 I was longlisted by the 2022-2023 Comedy Women in Print Prize for 'Sharp Pains'. 'The Wishing Machine' was my first attempt at writing a children's book. Set in the 'real world' of 2014, it already reads like historical fiction. My life motto is ‘You’re only young once. But you can be immature forever.'
