Jayant Patel. Is known as Doctor Death. Patel is a surgeon born and trained in India. In 1984, He started practicing in Buffalo New York. Where he would be fined and placed on probation for not examining his patients prior to surgery. His license was eventually revoked in 2001.

He moved to Oregon in 1989. He was responsible for 8 deaths. His coworkers claimed that he would operate on patients who weren’t on his roster he operated unnecessary.

 He caused pain, Injuries, and death. In 1998 Permanente restricted his practice, prohibiting him from operating on the pancreas or liver.

 The Oregon board of medicine made the restrictions statewide in 2000. After reviewing four cases in which 3 patients died. Patel became the “Director of surgeries” in 2003 at Bundaberg Base in Australia. He had been hired by “Queensland Health under the area of need program.

His inadequacies were soon noticed, nurses were said to hide their patients from him. In 2005  news of the injuries and deaths connected to him and hit the media. Soon outlets were flooded with other stories.

He returned to Portland in 2006, a few months later. A magistrate issued a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with Manslaughter, causing grievous harm and fraud. Patel was extradited in 2008 and was convicted. However his conviction was overturned on appeal. Upon pursuing outstanding charges in 2013, Patel pleaded guilty to four charges of fraud and was ultimately sentenced to 2 years in prison but that was suspended because of the time he spent in jail for the convictions that were overturned by the high court of Australia.

Patel as of now is a free man but isn’t allowed to practice medicine anymore.

“The Angel of Death”

Josef Mengele received his medical degree in 1938, the same year he joined the German Schutzstaffel paramilitary under Hitler and the Nazi party.

He volunteered for medical practice, but all of his activities are not clear from the period in time.

In 1943 he returned to Germany after being wounded as a medical officer with the SS Pioneer Battalion V. He began work at the Kaiser Wilhelm institute for anthropology, human Genetic, and Eugenics. He received a promotion to SS Captain and was transferred to Auschwitz, where he became chief camp physician. Under the jurisdiction of Edward Wirth.

His responsibilities where he would walk around and decide which prisoners that arrived on the ramp would live and who would be brought to the gas chambers.

He was Nicknamed  “The Angel of death” Or “ White Angel” for his very cruel demeanor. Often of duty he would be on the look out for twins he could use as his next experiments. Also he would go to the barracks hospital and order anyone who didn’t recover after 2 weeks to death. He was also supervising Zyklon B, The Cyanide- Based pesticide used in mass killings in the gas chambers. He would inject the prisoners’ eyes with heterochromia which would change colors he also collected the victims eyeballs just for his own reasons.

He sought out some pregnant women for some experiments and sent them to the gas chamber when he was done. He sewed a set of Romanian twins together to simulate conjoined twins. Both died within a few days. One night he killed 14 twins by injecting them in the heart with chloroform.

He performed unnecessary amputations of limbs, transferred the blood of one twin into the other and other horrible gruesome things. In 1945 after the soviets approached, Mengele fled. He was briefly in US custody in the immediate postwar but was released because his captures where unaware his name was on the list of wanted war criminals.

 Using falsified papers, he worked as a farmhand in Bavaria from 1945-1949. He settled in Argentina. His crimes were well documented by postwar courts, west German Authorities issued an arrest in 1959, and request for extradition was made in 1960.

Mengle moved to Paraguay and then Brazil, where he died in 1979 under the fictitious name “Wolfgang Gerhard. His body was exhumed, and his identity was confirmed by DNA Analysis.
