About

RicHollister grew up in the endless suburban sprawl of Los Angeles. Reared on first stage smog alerts and  2nd hand smoke from Angel Dust in the late 70s.

He came of age just as Punk Rock was exploding , '79/'80, in LA/OC, he immeadiately identified with and got involved in the scene .More so when, the 19 year old singer of his neighborhood punk band dropped the mic because of stagefright in January of '81, and the 15 year old Ric picked it up and,  after improvising  for the 1st couple months,  began writing lyrics  . He would go on to front a handful of bands over the next 25 years,  None making anything more than a local impact however .(he was the 1st singer of the band,NOFX)

Ric also got into the early hip hop/rap movement in the mid 80s through the 90s, performing at dozens of house parties, many ending with bottles being thrown, sometimes at him.

He returned  last year to his old neighborhood, after 35 years from Argentina  . Where he had lived and taught English for 11 years. He loved writing songs as teaching / learning aids. I hear some of students did as well.

With His Heart forever emersed in rhyme and verse,   He has also begun writing a book.   More to come, as long as he is on this side of the sun.
