A love poem I wrote for my husband Gary.

\"Photobucket\"

The love I hold
is truly one of the treasures.
The trinkets of gold
all of life's simplest of pleasures
are nothing compared to you.

The love I hold
is the greatest treasure I own.
Our love will not grow cold.
It is sweetest feeling I have known
this love shared by we two.

That was a beautiful poem. The way everything flowed together was perfect and I loved how it was repetitive. It helped reveal a passion. Thanks for sharing.

I knew I had to read the poem (being a love poem and all). I am delighted (I wanted to say happy?) that I did. The poem is lovely, straight to the poi ntand I bet your hubby must have loved it.

I have one question though, would you teach me how to write love poems?

James

Hi James. Thanks for reading and the comment. Best advice find the right person to love then take that pen and when your heart overflows with those feelings write it down, before it disappears. I appreciate the vote of condifence.

You're gifted with the word for sure.
I really like this poem and how it conveys so much through such simplicity.
As well, I dig the rhyme scheme :) [a-b-a-b-c a-d-a-d-c]
Most of all I love that it's born of heart.
Gary's Blessed to be loved this much.

Wonderfully written, I really dig the format, I hope you don't mind if I borrow the 5 line per stanza thing for one of my poems. I'm sorry I haven't been on here too much, I've been busy with work, my love life, and I just started a new band and we've been practicing 5 days a week. I just didn't want you to think I was blowing you off, and as always, I always appreciate your criticism on my work. I hope to add more soon and have more time to read more of yours, as it has been a long while since I've had a chance to sit down and actually read anything. Also hope to keep in correspondence with you and if you know of any other writers on the site who would like my work or I might like theirs, let me know. Again, another wonderful piece of writing compiled by one of my absolute favorite writers. Hope to hear back soon.

Very good indeed Susan. I think it should be used in an anniversary card...certainly better IMO than most of the naff verses I read in many greeting cards. Ricky.

Hi Ricky,
Thanks for reading. You are so right most of the cards you find now a days look like something a robot pounded out.
