About Author
In 1864 a Union Colonel set out on a punitive mission through Indian Territory, burning homes, killing livestock and laying waste to the countryside. He ordered his men not take prisoners. At the Battle of Middle Boggy, around 40 wounded rebel soldiers had their throats slit from ear to ear by members of his Command. No quarter was given. The story is set in 1877, during the long economic depression. It is an adventure tale of determined love, revenge and the futility of war. The novel comes from a short story previously published on Booksie.
